Isaiah 40:8

Timeless Truths

The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.

These are not the opinions of men — they are the eternal declarations of God's Word. Each truth below is drawn directly from the King James Bible and paired with reflection to help you understand and apply it today.

The Nature of God

God is Eternal

"Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God."
Psalm 90:2

God exists outside of time. He was not created, He has no beginning and no end. Every generation that has ever lived has stood before the same eternal God.

God is Omnipresent

"Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there."
Psalm 139:7–8

There is no place in all creation where God is absent. His presence is not limited by geography, circumstance, or time.

God is Love

"He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love."
1 John 4:8

Love is not merely something God does — it is who He is. Every act of grace, mercy, and redemption flows from this foundational truth.

The Nature of Man

Man is Made in God's Image

"So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them."
Genesis 1:27

Every human being carries the imprint of the divine. This is the foundation of human dignity — not achievement, not status, but creation in the image of God.

All Have Sinned

"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God."
Romans 3:23

Sin is not a cultural construct — it is a universal reality. Every person who has ever lived, apart from Christ, has fallen short of God's perfect standard.

Man's Heart is Deceitful

"The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?"
Jeremiah 17:9

Scripture does not flatter human nature. The heart apart from God is not a reliable guide — it requires transformation by the Spirit of God.

Salvation & Redemption

Salvation is by Grace Through Faith

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast."
Ephesians 2:8–9

Salvation cannot be earned, purchased, or achieved. It is a gift — freely given by God, received by faith. This truth levels every human distinction.

Christ is the Only Way

"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."
John 14:6

This is among the most exclusive and most inclusive statements in Scripture — exclusive in that there is one way, inclusive in that it is open to all who will come.

God So Loved the World

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
John 3:16

The entire gospel is compressed into this single verse. The motive is love. The method is the Son. The offer is to whosoever will believe.

The Christian Life

Love God and Neighbour

"Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself."
Matthew 22:37–39

Jesus distilled the entire law into two commands. Every other commandment hangs on these two. A life of faith is ultimately a life of love — toward God and toward people.

Take Up Your Cross

"Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me."
Matthew 16:24

Following Christ is not a passive decision. It is a daily act of self-denial and surrender — choosing His will above our own in every circumstance.

Be Transformed by Renewing Your Mind

"And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God."
Romans 12:2

Transformation begins in the mind. The Christian life is not about external conformity but internal renewal — thinking differently because we have been made new in Christ.

What Is Truth?

Pilate's Question

"Pilate saith unto him, What is truth? And when he had said this, he went out again unto the Jews, and saith unto them, I find in him no fault at all."
— John 18:38

Pontius Pilate asked the most important question in human history — and walked away without waiting for the answer. The answer was standing right before him. Jesus Christ is the embodiment of truth, and His Word is the standard by which all truth is measured.

Jesus Is the Truth

"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."
— John 14:6

Truth is not merely a concept or a philosophy — it is a Person. Jesus Christ declared Himself to be the truth in absolute terms. To know truth is to know Him. Every other claim to truth must be measured against the person and Word of Jesus Christ.

God's Word Is Truth

"Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth."
— John 17:17

In His high priestly prayer, Jesus identified the Word of God as truth itself. Scripture is not merely a record of truth — it is truth. It does not merely point to the standard; it is the standard. The Bible is the final authority on every matter it addresses.

Truth Sets You Free

"And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."
— John 8:32

Truth is not a burden — it is a liberator. The world offers countless philosophies, opinions, and ideologies, but only the truth of God's Word breaks the bondage of sin, deception, and death. Knowing the truth is not merely an intellectual exercise; it is the path to genuine freedom.

The Spirit of Truth

"Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come."
— John 16:13

The Holy Spirit is called the Spirit of truth — His ministry is to lead believers into the full understanding of God's Word. He does not contradict Scripture; He illuminates it. Every believer has been given this divine guide to lead them into truth.

Truth in a World of Lies

"For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven."
— Psalm 119:89

In an age of shifting opinions, cultural relativism, and competing narratives, the Word of God stands immovable. Cultures rise and fall, philosophies come and go, but the truth of Scripture is eternally settled in heaven. It was true before the world began, and it will be true when this age has passed away.
